July 25, 2015 - Hargill & Brushline Road (Birder Patrol Trip)
White morph Reddish Egret, also a probably returnee to Hargill Playa!
If anything, the Collared Plover was actually closer this time! (You can even see a little of the characteristic tawny color behind his black forehead and around the shoulder!)
A little further away, but you can see the shape of the collar well.
"Catch me if you can!"
Happy Birder Patrol participants! L-R: Tim Brush (I think, with the scope), Alicia Cavazos, Laura Robinson, Norma Friedrich, and Baceliza Monroe.
What I thought was a young Red-tailed Hawk (as that's what I thought I was hearing) was actually a young White-tailed Hawk with a very Redtail-like patterning!
Groove-billed Ani hiding from the heat...
Immature Red-tailed Pennant (token ode...)
