Mystery hawk along Jimenez Road; my initial thought was a young Red-shouldered Hawk, but it quite large and flew more like a Redtail, even though the pattern doesn't quite fit in my mind. Thoughts?

Laughing Gulls live up to their name!
Loafing larids: mainly Black Skimmers and Sandwich Terns, with a single Royal Tern (orange bill) and some Laughing Gulls in the back.
Head-on skimmers look like so many long-legged penguins!
A real treat this time of year is seeing the rosy blush of the Franklin's Gulls!
Bad shots of a good bird: a Palm Warbler at the very western edge of its wintering range!
