November 17, 2013 - Sabal Palm Grove

Common Green Darner hangs up along the Resaca Loop Trail

Along the boardwalk, a Wilson's Warbler gives its dry chep while a Long-billed Thrasher gives its liquid duit call.  Towards the end of the recording you can heard the rattle of a Ringed Kingfisher in the distance.

Several Mottled Ducks take off from the marsh (looped once).

The ducks get a Common Yellowthroat calling annoyedly (you can hear the fleeing ducks in the background)!

Along the back side of the Resaca Loop Trail, a House Wren fusses while a Couch's Kingbird pups in the background.

The highly variable Sickle-winged Skipper was in good numbers along the newly opened eastern section of the Resaca Loop Trail.

An Orange-barred Sulphur feeds on a Turk's Cap.

The damaged wing on this Mexican Yellow lets you see a bit of the upperside of the opposite forewing!

Chalky Spreadwing (thanks, Josh and Terry!)

A pair of Solitary Sandpipers pose at the blind (closeup of the right-hand bird below).

A Black-crested Titmouse nabs a seed from the feeder area!
